This 5-bedroom home blends elements of local architecture with those found in modern, luxury beach cottages around the world. The entire house is furnised with gorgeous, hand-crafted furniture made with certified hardwood sourced in Nicaragua and every room features top-of-the-line beds so you can rest easy knowing you’ll sleep well while on vacation. Basically, you will never want to leave once you’re here!
The downstairs features 3 bedrooms – a master suite with 1 king and 2 guest rooms, one with 1 queen and the other with 2 fulls. Here you will also find the main kitchen, living room, dining area, outdoor bar & lounge area and, of course, the pool. There is more outdoor living area then you will know what to do with, whether you want to take a nap on the wrap-around couch, read a book in the hammock, enjoy a cocktail at the bar with your friends in the pool or lay out on the wet deck to soak up some sun and watch the surf.
The upstairs has its own access via an outdoor staircase, which also offers access to the 2nd floor balcony and 3rd floor loft. The upstairs features 2 bedrooms – a master suite with 1 king and a guest suite with 1 king – as well as a kitchenette, which is fully equiped with everything you need.
Additional Details:
Housekeeping: Ola Popoyo has a full-time housekeeper who provides cleaning services from 7:00 am – 3:00 pm on Mondays – Friday and from 7:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturdays. If you need laundry service, please ask Andrea to do it for you, as she is the only person with access to the laundry room.
Gardening & Pool Maintenance: Ola Popoyo has a full-time pool and landscaping attendant who works from 6:00 am – 2:00pm on Mondays – Fridays and from 6:00 am – 12:00 pm on Sundays. Jorge is also available to offer assistance with any other needs you may have around the house.
Beach Towels: We provide beach towels for the number of people that are staying in the house. Please make sure those towels are there upon your departure. We will have to charge $30 for each missing beach towel.
Check Out: Check out is at 11:00AM. Please turn off all lights, fans and a/c units and close and lock all windows and patio doors. Leave the key in the lock box. We will come by and check on the house to make sure there are no damage to the property and will then refund your security deposit.
Medical care: The Roberto Clemente clinic is located about 15 minutes south of Popoyo. It is staffed by a doctor and a pharmacist and is open from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm on Mondays – Fridays, closes at 12:00 pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays. They provide basic medical care, pharmacy services and emergency transportation via ambulance.
Electricity: Electricity in Nicaragua is very expensive. Please help us to conserve electricity by turning off A/C’s when you leave the house and/or when the bedrooms are not in use. Also, electricity in Nicaragua is not always dependable and goes out from time to time due to planned outages and/or problems with the grid. Ola Popoyo does not have a back-up power system, but we do provide a flashlight as well as battery-powered candles in each room.
Water: Water is a very valuable, yet scarce, resource along the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. Please make every effort to conserve usage whenever possible. Ola Popoyo operates on a water pressure system that is powered by electricity, so when the power is out, so is the water.
Money: The Nicaraguan currency is Cordobas, however, US Dollars are accepted anywhere you go as long as they are not torn, written on or worn out. You will most likely get change back in Cordobas. If you use US Dollars, try to stick to smaller bills. There is an ATM at the entrance of La Jolla de Guasacate.

Meal Packages & Information
Meal Packages: Full meal packages, which include food and non-alcoholic beverages, are available upon advanced request. What better way to fully enjoy your vacation than to have a chef prepare all of your meals for you in the comfort of your house. If this option interests you, please inquire for detailed information.
Meal plans are limited to 2 or more guests for no less than two meals per day for six days. The costs are as follows:
- (OPTION 1) Two meals a day (the client may choose what two meals they would like in ADVANCE) for the price of $35 per guest per day.
- (OPTION 2) Three meals a day for the price of $45 per guest per day.
(*) These costs include pre-shopping, preparation of food and a in-house chef to both cook and clean up after every meal.
(*) Both options come with fruit smoothies throughout the day.
The Pre-Shopping package has a cost of $100+cost of groceries. (receipt will be presented to client(s) upon arrival – I would send the client(s) a shopping list before arrival they would then choose what they would like to have stocked and put away in the rental property the day of or the day before their arrival depending on arrival times.
